WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw; http://www.itechlaw.org) today announced that it elected new officers and a new board of directors at its 2012 World Technology Law Conference & Annual Meeting, held May 3-4 in Washington, D.C. With members in more than 60 countries, ITechLaw is the premier worldwide organization for legal professionals practicing in the global technology sector.
ITechLaw will now be led by John Beardwood, partner at Fasken Martineau LLP, based in Toronto, where he has a corporate/commercial practice, with an emphasis on outsourcing and procurement, technology, and privacy law related matters. He is regularly listed among the world's pre-eminent Internet and e-commerce lawyers in leading directories and publications, and he is a frequent speaker and author. Beardwood is Co-Chair of the firm's National Technology and Intellectual Property Practice Group; Co-Chair of the National Outsourcing Practice Group; and Vice-Chair of the Privacy and Information Protection Practice Group. He has been a member of the ITechLaw board for six years, was the Program Committee Chair for five years, and has been on the Executive Committee for four years.
