WESTPORT, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tradeshow and B2B Media veteran Paul Mackler has launched Eagle Eye Expositions, LLC, a trade show management production company focused on building strong, content rich trade events that are underrepresented or expanding into influential segments. He will serve as President & CEO. Backed by a group of accomplished former trade show and media entrepreneur angel investors, the newly formed company acquired Border Security Expo from E.J. Krause & Associates, Inc., one of the world’s premier, independent organizers over the last 25 years. Border Security Expo is the world’s leading conference and expo dedicated to international border security. This year’s event showed a 24 percent increase in exhibit space with a waiting list of more than 70 companies unable to participate. Attendance was also up 21 percent with event participants from 40 states and 10 countries.
Mackler, who has consulted with several global media companies over the past several years on the development of new shows within the U.S. and Singapore, has remained on the lookout for the right opportunity to re-enter the field on his own.
“There were certain dynamics and growth characteristics that really attracted me to Border Security Expo,” says Mackler. “This is a large, growing, global, and sustainable multi-billion dollar marketplace. I look forward to working with U.S. Customs & Border Protection and the show’s distinguished advisory board, faculty and exhibitor base to build upon what E.J. Krause & Associates had developed.”
Mackler has held leadership positions in some of the country’s largest trade show and business media companies. Building upon existing infrastructures, leveraging assets, launching new events and developing partnerships and alliances, he has been a pioneer in the business-to-business media communications industry for more than 28 years. Mackler previously served as Chairman of HMP Communications Holdings; President & CEO of Cygnus Business Media; President of Reed Exhibition Companies, N.A., a division of Reed Elsevier; and Principal and CEO of CMC, a privately-held, trade show and conference producer.
E.J. Krause & Associates produces events in four continents focusing on several different industries. As a privately held company since its inception in 1984, E.J. Krause has a long history of entering new markets and developing new launches overseas and domestically. E.J. Krause continues an aggressive growth program for both launches and acquisitions in its core industries. States Ned Krause, President & CEO of E.J. Krause, “We plan on utilizing the proceeds from this sale to continue to support this global growth strategy.”
The Border Security Expo conference and exhibition focuses on issues of terrorism, drug smuggling, human trafficking and a technological infrastructure that must be upgraded, heightened and enhanced. The expanded mandate and mission of the U.S. Border Patrol has created a need to meet new challenges with new solutions. This year’s show, as in the past, showcased numerous technological solutions to secure our borders and ports of entry.
Border Security Expo serves the over 22,000 members of the U.S. Border Patrol as well as local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Border Security Expo show organizers plan to expand the exhibit hall for 2013, scheduled to take place at the Phoenix Convention Center, March 12-13, 2013. The conference is again being offered in conjunction with the National Center for Border Security & Immigration at the University of Arizona, a U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate Center of Excellence.
