MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ApeniMED, a leader in healthcare interoperability and Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) connectivity, today announced its certification as a Health Data Intermediary (HDI) by the Minnesota Department of Health. With its certification, ApeniMED becomes one of three select vendors in the State authorized to provide health information exchange solutions to hospitals and healthcare professionals to achieve meaningful use objectives. ApeniMED’s certification is also a prerequisite to participating in the Minnesota eHealth Connect project, a multi-million dollar, federally-funded health information exchange program.
“We are committed to working with the provider community to provide secure, standards-based health information exchange solutions that will improve patient care and help lower healthcare costs in Minnesota and nationally,” said ApeniMED CEO John Fraser. “I plan to personally work with Minnesota providers, hospitals, clinics, payers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities, leveraging our national leadership in the new Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) standards. We believe that this standards-based approach will lead to better interoperability, consistent security and patient privacy protections.”
