AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pivot3®, Inc., the leading provider of unified storage and compute appliances, secured the 2011 top market share position in the global marketplace for IP SANs used for video surveillance, according to a new report from IMS Research. Pivot3 has held the top spot for three consecutive years.
The report, “The World Market for Enterprise and IP Storage Used for Video Surveillance – 2012 Edition” from IMS Research, tracks trends in the physical security storage market. The overall market demand for video surveillance storage solutions has grown exponentially as users look to increase IP camera counts, add higher resolution cameras and increase retention times.
“By 2015, we forecast that megapixel security cameras will account for more than 70 percent of network security cameras shipped,” said William Rhodes, IMS Research. “With this increase of data, the requirements for higher capacity storage products grows and IP SANs will continue to be the fastest growing surveillance storage segment with growth forecasted at an annual rate of more than 60 percent, in terms of capacity shipped.”
The EMEA markets are experiencing rapid growth as customers undergo the transition from analog to digital surveillance technologies. Pivot3 is uniquely positioned to capitalize on growth opportunities in these areas with strategically placed local teams that provide a high level of sales and service support to customers and aligned partners.
"It's no surprise to see IP SAN growth top the charts given the cost and management benefits of Ethernet-based systems," said Lee Caswell, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Pivot3. "Our investment in local sales and support personnel across Asia, the Middle East and Europe are paying off as we build regional revenue growth in the transportation, government and gaming vertical markets across the globe."
“As Pivot3 continues to expand its global reach, we are pleased to play a pivotal role in the delivery of its unified, highly available shared storage and virtual server appliances,” said Kevin Underwood, General Manager, UAE, Electronic Systems Solutions, G4S. “The addition of Pivot3 helps complete our product offering, enabling the delivery of a robust and high availability storage solution for critical applications.”
