SCRA Promotes Key Personnel

Three Employees to Assume Leadership Roles

CHARLESTON, S.C.--()--SCRA, an emerging global leader in applied research and commercialization, today announced three leadership changes. Marvin Davis, Greg Hillman and Tom McCord, all current SCRA employees, will assume new roles in their divisions.

Davis, a six and a half year SCRA veteran, is the company’s newest Executive Team member, overseeing the SCRA R&D Facilities sector as Executive Vice President. Davis’ prior duties included the management of SCRA’s research parks, tenant leases and design and construction of SCRA research facilities. In his new position, he will oversee both physical and digital assets, including current and future SCRA property and facilities as well as digital assets including servers, applications, networks (voice and data) and telephone systems. Davis succeeds John Gregg, who retired in February to spend more time with his family.

Hillman will serve as the Interim Director for SC Launch, an SCRA Technology Ventures program. He has spent nearly five years with the company, serving as the SC Launch Upstate Zone Manager and most recently as Director, Zone Management. He was responsible for overseeing the zone management team statewide, to include the Upstate, Midlands and Lowcountry regions. In his interim role, Hillman will continue to lead the zone managers, assist client companies with external funding and networking opportunities and will support public relations events, trade shows and community outreach programs. Greg has been a key contributor to the program during his tenure at SCRA and replaces Dave McNamara, who recently left the company to pursue other options.

McCord joined SCRA in July 2010 as Vice President on the business development team. He focused on positioning SCRA to enter new federal and commercial markets. McCord will serve as the Interim Vice President for Commercial Solutions, a new company initiative. He has been a key contributor in the formation of this important strategic sector, and in his new role will serve as the senior executive leader for this effort.

“I would like to congratulate Marvin, Greg and Tom on their new roles,” said SCRA CEO Bill Mahoney. “SCRA continues to deliver new technology results for our clients, customers and partners, and our employees work tirelessly to ensure that our mission to increase South Carolina’s Knowledge Economy is fulfilled. Marvin, Greg and Tom have the experience necessary to ensure SCRA continues to be successful, and I look forward to working with our company leaders in their new capacities.”
