LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--3D creatives from throughout Asia, Europe and the U.S. will gather next Wednesday night at the Beverly Hills Hotel for the International 3D Society Annual Creative Arts Awards. The black-tie dinner will honor 3D movies, television programs, advertising, and video games. ‘Hugo’ Director and Golden Globe® winner, Martin Scorsese, will receive the Society’s Harold Lloyd Award, and Sony Corporation of America will receive the Sir Charles Wheatstone Award for 3D education.
“With hundreds of eligible 3D works from movies to music videos made this year, the Society will bestow just 21 awards for distinguished achievement,” said Society Chairman, Jim Mainard, of DreamWorks Animation (DWA).
“Our final voting will be completed this week, and this year’s creative work shows a stunning new level of quality in every category,” said Lenny Lipton, Chair of the 3D Society’s Awards Committee.
“We have delegations from China, Japan, Korea, the U.K., and throughout Europe coming to participate next Wednesday night. They represent filmmakers, studios, television networks, video game organizations, and producers from across the 3D spectrum. It will truly be an international celebration,” said Jim Chabin, Society President.
The Society’s documentary category alone was filled with entries from France, Germany, the U.K., China, Japan, Korea, and the U.S.
In addition to the documentary category, awards will be presented for best 3D animated picture, live-action picture, stereography, short picture, live television broadcast, sporting event, entertainment program, advertisement, live concert and others.
