Trading Technologies Launches Link to Tokyo Stock Exchange, Completing Connectivity to Japanese Derivatives Markets

TOKYO & CHICAGO--()--Trading Technologies International, Inc. (TT), a global provider of high-performance trading software for derivatives professionals, today announced the release of a new gateway to the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE). The connection is expected to further fuel TT’s growth in the Asia/Pacific region.

With the launch of the new TSE link, TT now provides access to all major Japanese derivatives markets, including Osaka Securities Exchange (OSE), Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), Tokyo Grain Exchange (TGE), Tokyo Financial Exchange (TFX) and TSE.

The TSE gateway directly connects TT’s award-winning X_TRADER® derivatives trading platform and related electronic trading products to the exchange and supports trading of key TSE-listed futures and options products, including:

  • Bonds: 10-year Japanese Government Bond (JGB) futures and options; 5-year JGB futures; Mini 10-year JGB futures.
  • Equity Indexes: Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) futures and options; Mini TOPIX futures; TOPIX and Nikkei dividend futures.
  • Equity Options: Options on more than 160 individual equities.

“We are very pleased that Trading Technologies has connected its electronic trading system to the new TSE platform. TT has a very strong Japanese client base as well as deep global market penetration, so we expect this new connection will be beneficial to the exchange,” said Akira Tagaya, Executive Account Manager, Market Business Development with TSE.

“The new TSE gateway completes TT’s coverage of the Japanese derivatives markets. We expect this will provide us with a significant competitive advantage globally, but especially in Japan, which represents the fastest growing market for us in Asia,” said Harris Brumfield, CEO of TT.

TT customers have the option to spread TSE products against contracts listed on all TT-supported exchanges. TT currently provides connectivity to three-dozen markets in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East and the Asia/Pacific region. The platform supports trading of more than 10,000 products across multiple asset classes, including futures, options on futures, and cleared and OTC energies.

TT customers can choose to host their gateways internally or outsource connectivity to TTNET™, TT’s fully managed hosting solution. Japanese market gateways hosted by TTNET are located close to the exchanges at TT’s Tokyo hub. Regional co-location, proximity hosting and server-side execution via TTNET data centers enhance a trader’s edge via maximum speed advantages for prices and orders from and to each exchange.
