KKR Appoints Tony De Nunzio as Senior Advisor

NEW YORK--()--Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. (together with its affiliates, “KKR”) today announced the appointment of Tony De Nunzio CBE as a Senior Advisor to the Firm. Mr. De Nunzio is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of Maxeda, a Netherlands-based retail group, which he led as Chief Executive Officer from 2005 to 2011. He is also Non-Executive Chairman of Pets at Home, the U.K.’s leading specialty pet product retailer, and a Non-Executive Director of Alliance Boots, a leading international, pharmacy-led health and beauty group. In this new role, Mr. De Nunzio will also serve on the Firm’s private equity portfolio management committee, which interacts with company management and monitors all of KKR’s private equity investments.

Before joining Maxeda in 2005, Mr. De Nunzio was from 2002 to 2005 President and CEO of Asda Group Ltd., the U.K.’s second largest supermarket chain and a Wal-Mart subsidiary, where he previously served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Asda, Mr. De Nunzio worked in the international consumer goods sector for Unilever, L’Oreal and Pepsi in a number of financial roles. He is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant.

Mr. De Nunzio is Chairman of the Advisory Board of Manchester Business School. In 2004, he received the IGD award for Outstanding Business Achievement and was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for services to retail in 2005.
