On Sept. 27, 2011, TestOut Corporation, an information technology (IT) certification company based in Pleasant Grove, Utah, announced the launch of a new line of innovative certification exams called TestOut Pro Certifications. TestOutPro Certification exams require individuals to perform tasks with online labs that demonstrate specific IT skills and competencies to measure what they can do, not just what they have memorized.
TestOut Pro Certification exams are very different from existing IT certification exams offered by CompTIA, Microsoft and other certification providers who typically use knowledge-based assessments where students select an answer from pre-determined options listed in a multiple-choice format.
