Dr. Montalvo most recently served as Interim President of MSO and previously served as their Chief Medical Officer, where he played a key role in the initial development of the company. Dr. Montalvo has also served as Executive Vice President of Medical Affairs of PMC Medicare Choice, Inc., and Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs for MMM Healthcare, Inc. – Aveta’s two Medicare Advantage plans.

A well-known and respected physician, Dr. Montalvo has over 25 years of experience in medicine and has been a key figure within the local healthcare community in Puerto Rico for years.

Dr. Montalvo graduated from the Ponce School of Medicine, where he served as resident physician at the DAMAS Hospital and then chief resident. Afterwards he earned a medical MBA from the University of Tennessee. In addition, he has also been a primary care physician for the local Health Reform since the inception of the program.
He previously served as Dean of Student Affairs, as well as Dean of Academic Affairs at the Ponce School of Medicine. Dr. Montalvo also served as medical director for Lafayette Hospital, the Ambulatory Clinics of DAMAS Hospital and the Programa Educativo Salud Integral (PESI). He also has experience consulting with health management organizations including United Healthcare and Preferred Health Management.
