HotLink Emerges With $10M Series A

Founded by former FastScale Technology executives, the company secures $10 million Series A financing led by Foundation Capital

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--HotLink® Corporation, emerging from stealth to revolutionize system management of heterogeneous computing, today announced it has secured $10 million in Series A financing led by Foundation Capital with participation from Leapfrog Ventures. The company’s HotLink SuperVISOR™ technology, which was also announced today, is an enterprise-class virtual integration and transformation platform spanning all major virtual infrastructures -- VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (KVM). HotLink SuperVISOR is the first data center solution built with unique platform transformation technology that abstracts virtual infrastructure so enterprises can mix and match hypervisors using their existing management consoles. Enterprise customers include companies in technology, financial services, telecommunications and Internet search.

HotLink was founded in early 2010 and is led by CEO Lynn LeBlanc, a serial entrepreneur with an extensive career in enterprise software. Prior to HotLink, Ms. LeBlanc was CEO and founder of FastScale Technology, which was acquired by EMC Corporation in September 2009 and subsequently by VMware, Inc. Co-founder and vice president of engineering, Richard Offer, holds multiple patents in data center management and was also co-founder and vice president of engineering at FastScale. The executive team of HotLink also includes Oded Haner, CTO, and Laila Danielsen, vice president of sales.

“Enterprise data centers have always deployed heterogeneous infrastructure, yet there has been a profound lack of innovation to address the fundamental issue of incompatible software platforms,” said LeBlanc. “HotLink is attacking this problem from the bottom up, delivering the first transformation platform that eliminates the barriers to hypervisor interoperability. We look forward to working with Foundation and Leapfrog to deliver this first-of-a-kind technology and provide data centers with a scalable approach to heterogeneous infrastructure.”

"Our firm has extensive experience in information technology and complex data center solutions, and we are extremely impressed with the robust vision and strong track record of the HotLink team. Cracking the code on the interoperability of software platforms is a game changer for the IT industry,” said William B. Elmore, general partner, at Foundation Capital. "We look forward to working with Lynn and the management team to bringing this transformational technology to market to fill this longstanding and significant technical void."

Both Elmore and Leapfrog Ventures director Andy Fillat have joined the HotLink board of directors.
