(NASDAQ: ASGN), a leading global provider of diversified professional staffing solutions, announced today that Christian Rutherford will join the company’s physician staffing division, VISTA Staffing Solutions, as president, effective November 1.
Rutherford assumes the president role from Mark S. Brouse, who has held it since 1990. Brouse is one of the co-founders of VISTA, and he will assume a new part-time role assisting On Assignment’s president and CEO, Peter Dameris, in identifying and evaluating future acquisitions for VISTA.

Rutherford is an 18-year veteran of the U.S. staffing industry. Among his previous positions, Rutherford held senior leadership roles at CompHealth, the largest locum tenens company in the nation, and served as president of Weatherby Locums, the second largest privately held locum tenens company in the nation. Most recently, Rutherford served as chief operating officer of Medfinders, a large, national healthcare staffing company. Rutherford has been serving as a consultant to On Assignment since January.

Shaw, a senior vice president of VISTA, is responsible for VISTA’s U.S. locum tenens operations and oversees physician recruitment, credentials review, licensure, scheduling, territory management, and national accounts management.
