TAMUNING, Guam--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GTA TeleGuam Friday announced it has again expanded its digital television reach into three new Guam communities in response to growing demand from potential subscribers for superior quality and value for pay-television service.
GTA TeleGuam has installed additional digital television transmission equipment in Barrigada, Dededo and Santa Rita, allowing residential and business customers in neighborhoods within these villages to subscribe to 100 percent digital television.
In Barrigada, GTA TeleGuam expanded its reach in the vicinity of San Vicente and San Roke roads. In Dededo, homes and businesses along Wusstig Road now have GUdTV access. In Santa Rita, GTA TeleGuam expanded its digital television coverage in Hyundai housing.
GTA TeleGuam made significant capital investments in these areas based on growing customer interest and sales trends for GUdTV, short for Guam Digital Television.
The latest coverage area expansion into the new neighborhoods brings to about 40,000 the total number of homes and businesses on Guam with access to GUdTV. The coverage area expansion is expected to create a new surge for new GUdTV sales in those areas.
“GTA TeleGuam’s latest expansion reflects the company’s continuing commitment for making significant investments and bringing Guam consumers a new era of true cable television competition,” said Andrew Gayle, chief operating officer for GTA TeleGuam. “For the first time, customers within these new coverage areas now have the competitive TV choice they have been waiting for.”
Since the introduction of GUdTV in October 2008, more than 7,500 households and businesses have switched to digital television. Sales trends are increasing as favorable customer experience spreads around the island.
IP-based 100 percent digital television offers picture quality and programming flexibility that is not available on traditional cable television service. GUdTV offers more channels, more high definition channels, more family programming, more international programming and more sports.
As a special introductory offer, GTA TeleGuam is offering all new subscribers free installation through Sept. 30. In addition, customers who sign up for the Digital Choice package get the second month free, valued at more than $65.
Digital television monthly rates start at $29.95 for the basic Essential Package. GTA TeleGuam offers monthly discounts to customers who bundle communication services like broadband Internet access, wireless, and home phone service with digital television packages.
Customers can sign up for GUdTV at GTA TeleGuam retail locations in Upper Tumon, Agana Shopping Center, Micronesia Mall, Guam Premier Outlets, Navy Exchange and Andersen Air Force Base. For added convenience, customers can also sign up for service over the phone by calling the GTA TeleGuam ‘Always There!’ call center hotline at 644-4482.
