TOKYO & SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mobile social games leader ngmoco, a DeNA Co., Ltd. (2432.T) company, announced with DeNA today that its Mobage social games platform for Android has been released in English-speaking countries around the world; the service is slated to expand to other territories and mobile platforms soon. Completing this first stage of a global rollout, today DeNA also announced the launch of Mobage for Android in China.
“Mobage’s release outside of Japan marks the next step in our company’s global expansion,” said Neil Young, CEO, ngmoco, and Executive Officer, DeNA. “The opportunity in front of us is to build Mobage into the definitive destination for games and entertainment across territories and mobile operating systems. We’re tremendously excited about the potential for the platform, both as a great way for players to experience the very best games and for developers to access a global audience easily and effectively.”
Mobage is available for download now on Android Market, launching with the support of exclusive games from the world’s best social and mobile developers. With more than 100 game titles already in development for Mobage, the service will introduce a constant stream of socially enabled games, many of which will be debuting on Android for the first time.
“Our rollout of Mobage to English speaking territories and beyond will unlock the huge potential for the burgeoning market of social games for smartphone users worldwide,” said Isao Moriyasu, President, DeNA Co., Ltd. “We aim to make Mobage the world’s top social gaming platform by continually delivering engaging titles to players across nations.”
A unified player identity coupled with Mobage’s interest graph gives its members the ability to meet, communicate and play with others around the world that share their taste in games and entertainment.
Mobage affords game developers an easy-to-use platform to reach and monetize a global audience, including Mobage’s large and active existing user population with over 30 million players in Japan. A common service-wide currency and the platform’s integrated advertising network enables developers to monetize their games both through virtual goods sales and advertising.
