REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ingres Corporation, pioneers of the breakthrough analytic database VectorWise, today announced Steve Shine has been named Chief Executive Officer and President of Ingres Corporation effective immediately.

Shine joined Ingres in August 2007 as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales and has since held the positions of EVP, Worldwide Operations and latterly as Co-President. During this time he has helped establish the company’s leadership in Open Source Data Management and as a challenger in the Business Analytics market with the launch of the record breaking VectorWise technology, which is tracking a 100 percent plus quarter over quarter revenue and new customer growth by delivering substantial business value at some of the world’s leading Social Media, eCommerce, Retail and Utilities companies. Steve’s contribution has been instrumental in establishing Ingres as the innovative, profitable and growing company it is today.

Steve has also held senior management positions including President of the worldwide $240 million enterprise resource planning solutions portfolio at GEAC Computer Corporation where he joined from Andersen Consulting.
