Call for Entries for the annual AWS Image of Welding Awards

Deadline for Submissions Extended to August 19, 2011

MIAMI--()--The American Welding Society (AWS) is once again searching for the best and brightest stars in the welding community, and has subsequently extended a call for entries for the 9th Annual Image of Welding Awards.

The awards recognize and celebrate outstanding public contributions that promote the image of welding and the welding industry as a whole.

The deadline for entries is now August 19, 2011.

The Image of Welding Awards is open to all welding industry professionals. The awards are presented by AWS, the world’s largest organization dedicated to advancing the science, technology and application of welding, and also by the Welding Equipment Manufacturers Committee (WEMCO), a standing committee of AWS.

Awards are issued in a number of categories. All individuals, organizations and groups may be nominated for multiple categories. Self nominations are also acceptable. Winners will be presented with their respective awards at the Image of Welding Awards Ceremony, which is held during the AWS/FABTECH show on November 14-17, 2011 at the McCormick Center in Chicago, IL.

The Image of Welding Awards Program recognizes outstanding achievement in the following categories:

  • Individual (you or other individual)
  • Educator (welding teacher at an institution, facility, etc.)
  • Educational Facility (Any organization that conducts welding education or training)
  • Small Business (less than 200 employees)
  • Large Business (200 or more employees)
  • Distributor (welding products)
  • AWS Section (AWS local chapter)
