WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Red Bend Software, the market leader in Mobile Software Management (MSM) with more than 1 billion Red Bend-Enabled™ devices, today announced it has been granted six more patents relating to the company’s unique update technology used in its software management products and solutions. These additional patents further enhance Red Bend’s leadership position in Mobile Software Management.
JP patent number 4733831, registered April 28, 2011, is Red Bend’s first patent issued in Japan. It is part of a family of counterpart patents in the U.S., Canada, China, Korea, Singapore and Australia. The patent provides a method for performing an update of an executable program and covers Red Bend’s core update technology as implemented throughout its product portfolio.
Three additional patents — U.S. patent number 7,860,834, issued December 28, 2010; Australian patent number 2004250442, registered March 3, 2011; and Chinese patent number ZL 200480021372.7, registered July 22, 2009 — join counterpart patents in India and Singapore. This patent family provides worldwide protection for an additional method of software updating using a compact update package.
U.S. patent number 7,676,479, issued March 9, 2010, and European patent number 1652069, granted August 25, 2010, which is Red Bend’s first patent in Europe, form another family of patents. This family provides yet another method for version updating, as well as a method for generating a small update package to be used by the update method.
Red Bend’s portfolio now consists of 19 granted patents, with more than 50 others pending.
