Asia’s First-Ever Multinational Peer Academy

MGM Grand Sanya Resort, China to Host Inaugural AAMAS Encore Show April 2012

SINGAPORE & LOS ANGELES--()--MusicDNA Pte Ltd announced today the formation of the Asia Academy of Music Arts & Sciences (AAMAS), Asia’s first-ever peer driven Academy established to honor and award excellence in the arts and sciences of music, and to foster collaboration between all sectors of the music industry across Asia and beyond.

Headquartered in Singapore, AAMAS will operate across an expansive geography throughout Asia. AAMAS will interact, develop membership, and represent the interests of music industry professionals and students who practice or study in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, or Vietnam. The multi-national members of AAMAS, the industry networking and sharing, and the professional and academic initiatives of the Academy will help position Singapore as the hub for the Asia music industry.

AAMAS members may live anywhere in the world, but must professionally or academically be engaged in the music industry within Asia. Four classifications of membership to AAMAS are open to all those affiliated with the music industry: voting, professional, student and honorary. A Governing Board of approximately twenty will be named shortly.

The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) and Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) are in support of MusicDNA’s establishment in Singapore as a springboard to the music industry in Asia. AAMAS will create a platform for regional, as well as, global industry players to network and explore business opportunities in a collaborative environment with strong connectivity to the region.

In April of 2012, the MGM Grand Sanya Resort in Hainan, China will host the inaugural AAMAS ENCORE show, recognizing excellence in music. In 2013, the MGM Grand, Ho Tram, Vietnam, will host the program. Both the 2012 and 2013 programs will showcase the talent of the pan-Asian region with honorary awards bestowed to by the AAMAS Board. The 2012 and 2013 programs lead up to the peer-driven 2014 AAMAS Encore Awards show, which will be held in Singapore. All programs will be broadcast around the world.
