VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ECPI College of Technology (ECPI) announces that it is now ECPI University. The name change reflects the diversity of programs and various levels of education provided by the university. ECPI University offers master’s, bachelor’s, and associate’s degrees in technology, health sciences, business, criminal justice and culinary arts.
“While we have expanded our program offerings, the university continues to emphasize a student-centered focus and convenient schedules for the communities we serve,” said Mark Dreyfus, President of ECPI University. The university was founded in 1966 and has grown from 15 students to more than 10,000 and from one campus to 16 campus locations. ECPI University has evolved over the past 45 years and continues to play a significant role in workforce development across the Commonwealth, North Carolina and South Carolina.
In December 2010 the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools awarded ECPI approval to offer the Master of Science in Information Technology. The new degree will be offered at the Virginia Beach campus, as well as online. “The master’s program is designed to prepare students for management roles in information technology,” stated Dreyfus. “Students can acquire theoretical, practical and applied skills in computer-based information systems and the technologies that support them.”
Community College Week has ranked ECPI in the top 10 in the number of graduates in the fields of Computer and Information Sciences, Engineering Related Technologies and Health Professions and Related Clinical Sciences.
