LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vanguard Software Solutions, Inc. (VSS) and Viprinet GmbH today demonstrated to wireless ENG developers at the NAB2011 conference the benefits of using SVC encoders together with Viprinet routers using packet prioritized channels.
The reliability and video quality of VSS H.264/SVC, Error Resilient, Real-Time HD Video Streaming was demonstrated to be significantly better when compared to an H.264/AVC encoded video stream. The VSS H.264/SVC stream continued unaffected while the AVC stream had significant artifacts and frame freezes over the same network bandwidth. The significant outperformance of the SVC stream were due to the unique capability of VSS H.264/SVC encoded video to intelligently group packets with special priority and the capability of Viprinet router to maintain these priorities all the way to the destination. This combination of SVC layered video and packet prioritized channels is a first for the Wireless ENG Market, introduced by a VSS and Viprinet joint development effort.
