Theatrics Launches General Availability of Beckinfield, the First Ever Mass Participation Web Series, With First Ever SXSW Actor Meetup

Sci-fi series debuts with online and offline tools for actors to create and play original characters

SXSW 2011

HOUSTON--()--Today, Theatrics, an online entertainment company, announces the general availability of Beckinfield.com. Beckinfield, the first ever Mass Participation Web Series, is a new venue for actors and enthusiasts. A Mass Participation Web Series allows anyone to create and play a character, build an audience, and collaborate through social media.

To celebrate the launch, Beckinfield is hosting the first ever SXSW Actor Meetup on March 14 from 5-8 pm. It marks the first time a SXSW party has been created exclusively for actors. The Copa Bar & Grill in Austin will provide the perfect atmosphere for actors to relax with food and drink and network with other actors. Visit http://www.actormeetup.com to RVSP for the event.

Beckinfield has been in Beta for three months and has already inspired actors to create hours of their own original content. Beckinfield offers all of the creative freedom of self-generated content at a fraction of the cost and effort because the story is already provided and the tools, training and support make it easy.

General availability kicks-off with “Beckinfield Backstage,” a new set of on and offline acting tools and resources. The program features online tutorials on diverse subjects, covering everything from character creation to social media for self-promotion. Online forums let participants collaborate and discuss their experiences while live meetups allow actors to mingle with their online co-stars in-person. And Beckinfield Magazine Online shares tips and tricks on all things Beckinfield and acting in the digital age.

"As an actor I have found Beckinfield Backstage to be a phenomenal resource,” said Kimberly Crandall, Beckinfield actress. “Not only are the Community Forums and Tutorials fantastic and so helpful, I also love the Actor Meetups. Beckinfield Backstage has many excellent opportunities to share support and encouragement with my fellow actors."

As of today, the general public can join the Beckinfield community and gain access to “Beckinfield Backstage” for the low price of $12 per month. Viewership is always free at www.beckinfield.com.
