Christopher de Lapuente Appointed Global President and CEO of Sephora

PARIS--()--LVMH, the world’s leading luxury group, announces the appointment of Christopher de Lapuente as Global President and CEO of Sephora, effective March 31, 2011.

All regions worldwide will report to him. For European operations he succeeds Jacques Levy. Bernard Arnault wishes to acknowledge Mr. Levy's remarkable leadership of Sephora following his decision to retire.

Christopher de Lapuente will also be a member of the LVMH Executive Committee. In this capacity, he will take on additional responsibilities within the Group.

David Suliteanu, who leads Sephora USA, will continue to drive its spectacular growth in the Americas.

Commenting on this new organization, Bernard Arnault added: “Joining LVMH as a member of the Executive Committee and head of Sephora, Christopher de Lapuente will bring to the Group a wealth of international experience; his know-how will be a precious asset for the global growth of Sephora and add to the continued success of LVMH”.

A graduate in economics of The University of Buckingham, Christopher de Lapuente who holds dual Spanish and British citizenship, joined Procter & Gamble in 1983. He spent the whole of his career within the Procter & Gamble Group holding positions in the UK, Spain, Turkey, Germany, and Switzerland. In 2004, he was appointed President, the youngest ever in P&G history, with responsibilities for the Hair Care division. Since 2007, he has been one of eight “Group Presidents” in charge of the Global Hair division, the second largest at P&G.
