BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vertis Communications, a results-driven marketing communications company that delivers inventive advertising, direct marketing and interactive solutions to prominent brands across North America, today announced it has appointed Jim Carpenter as Vice President of Inline Operations. In this role, Carpenter will be responsible for driving the growth of Vertis’ direct marketing services and positioning Vertis at the forefront of technological advancement through the evaluation and integration of the industry’s most advanced printing equipment.
Carpenter will leverage more than 40 years of experience in printing and allied fields to oversee operations for Vertis’ Direct Marketing Inline platform. By maximizing efficiencies through streamlined processes and the adoption of best-in-class technology, he will support Vertis’ goal of expanding already-robust printing capabilities, which includes the recent addition of a Goss Sunday 2000 seven-unit press and the KODAK VERSAMARK VL2200 Printing System to the inline printing suite. Carpenter will focus on advancing Vertis’ commitment to continuous improvement and innovation by establishing new goals and direction for the inline printing platform to boost performance, production quality and speed-to-market for industry leading clients such as American Express, Mutual of Omaha and Rite Aid.
“At Vertis, highly personalized and engaging direct marketing solutions are critical to the growth and advancement of our business, so it’s essential that we have the right experts in place to maintain our competitive edge,” said Gerald Sokol Jr., Interim President & Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Vertis Communications. “Jim’s proven experience in operational leadership will enhance the direct marketing inline printing platform while continuing to drive Vertis’ strategic approach to multichannel marketing.”
Most recently, Carpenter served as Sales Executive at PGI Companies, a full-service provider of laser and inkjet direct mail, where he was responsible for national accounts. He has also served in printing leadership and general manager roles at Lehigh Direct, Freedom Graphic Systems, World Color Press Direct Division and other leading commercial printers and publishing companies. Carpenter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a minor in industrial management from Franklin University in Columbus, OH.
