China Three Gorges announcement of $100 billion investment plans for two hydropower projects in Pakistan; SDIC Huajing's announcement of $2.4 billion investment in Guandi hydropower plant in Sichuan Province, China; and Electricity Of Vietnams announcement to invest $2.1 billion in the Son La hydroelectric plant in Vietnam were some of the major deals recorded in the hydro energy market in Q3 2010. Wind and solar energy markets also had a significant presence, recording investments of $27.2 billion and $18.4 billion respectively in Q3 2010.
