Momentum Builds as Major Corporations Join the Movement for Financial Literacy

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With just days to go until Green Socks Day on April 30, excitement is building across the country as a growing list of major corporations and leading organizations join individuals as they step up to support this national call to action for financial literacy.

Launched by Operation HOPE and Financial Literacy for All (FL4A) to celebrate the advancement of financial literacy as a national priority during Financial Literacy Month, the Green Socks Day Challenge is gaining traction coast to coast as a fun, visible and unifying way to spotlight the urgent need for financial literacy and to empower individuals, organizations, and communities to take action, start lifelong learning, and support financial education for all.

Companies and organizations including Walmart, MasterCard, US Bank, Truist, Huntington Bank, iHeart Media, Delta Airlines, MLB, MLS, Nascar, Nasdaq, NBA, NHL, Shopify, OpenAI and UPS are already on board, activating their employees, customers and communities to join the challenge.

There is still time to get involved. Individuals, organizations, and businesses nationwide are invited to participate in the Green Socks Day Challenge by:

  • Wearing green socks on April 30th to start the conversation about taking positive steps toward your financial future. Through the support of Walmart, limited edition green socks are available for purchase on walmart.com.
  • Taking the Green Socks Day quiz to test your level of financial literacy.
  • Sharing your socks on social media using #GreenSocksDay and tagging @OperatonHOPE. Standout posts will be displayed on Nasdaq’s Times Square Tower in New York City.

Corporations, small businesses, and community organizations are encouraged to participate in Green Socks Day by engaging employees in the initiative, hosting financial literacy events, and promoting financial literacy resources.

FL4A and Operation HOPE continue to provide free access to financial coaching, educational programs, and corporate partnerships to build a more financially empowered America.
