Swap Launches New Service for Tariff Optimization As Trade War Intensifies

Clear by Swap Global Will Unlock Cross-Border Compliance and Mitigate Tariff Exposure for Both Businesses and Consumers

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Swap, the e-commerce operating system that connects operations on one platform for e-commerce brands, today unveiled its newest service, Clear by Swap Global, in response to the drastic rise in tariffs. This offering acts as a tariff optimization service, providing a solution for all e-commerce brands facing an increase in export costs - bringing enterprise-level solutions that every business can access.

The majority of e-commerce brands currently operate within single-digit margins and are desperately looking for solutions to continue maximizing their profits, especially in today’s volatile trade landscape. With the expiration of the de minimis loophole approaching, threatening massive cost hikes, brands’ survival is in jeopardy. In addition to increasing total tariffs for e-commerce shipments, brands will now need to provide licenses, certification, importer SSN, and proof of origin for any item that is required to pass formal customs clearance— both inconvenient and profit-threatening policy changes.

Clear by Swap Global will partner with brands to reduce their exposure to tariffs through leveraging a B2B2C model, while continuing to provide customers 2-day delivery from UK and EU warehouses. This solution offers its partners a streamlined commercial invoicing platform, enabling compliant customs clearance and simplifying regulatory requirements, as well as end-to-end setup to ensure all U.S. operations are structured for customs, tax, and legal compliance. This innovative service is better poised to mitigate landed costs for exporters in the U.S. market.

“By offering brands the opportunity to optimize their tariff strategy, not only will they have a vital tool to help them survive, but they can mitigate the costs to consumers,” said Sam Atkinson, CEO and Co-Founder at Swap. “Our new solution for brands facing rising export costs in the U.S. market simplifies regulatory requirements, mitigating costs, maintaining shipping speeds, and limiting surprise fees. As global trade policy shifts unpredictably and rapidly, businesses can work with us to keep pace.”

This launch comes on the heels of Swap’s Tariff Turmoil Report which found that 83 percent of e-commerce executives are extremely concerned that these changes could threaten the survival of their company. The survey showed that many businesses are adjusting their operations to weather the storm. A majority are shifting to domestic supply channels (56 percent), or adjusting pricing strategies (55 percent), while 31 percent are stockpiling goods before tariffs take effect. As 65 percent acknowledge their lack of preparedness, 88 percent have sought consulting help or formed partnerships to navigate cross-border transaction strategies.
