Industry Veteran Stephen Easley Joins Embroker as Vice President of Underwriting

Insurtech taps Easley to expand Embroker’s breadth of technical underwriting expertise

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Embroker, the digital platform making it radically simple to get business insurance, today announced the appointment of Stephen Easley as Vice President of Underwriting. With over 25 years of experience in Specialty and Professional Lines underwriting, his new position will focus on expanding Embroker’s underwriting capabilities, refining specialty insurance products, and working closely with the team to enhance how coverage is structured for businesses.

Easley began his career as a Management Liability Underwriter at AIG, where he gained experience working with private, nonprofit, and public companies developing a strong foundation in specialty underwriting. He later advanced into leadership roles at CNA and USLI, where he guided underwriting teams, developed new products, and contributed to innovation in the Management Liability and Tech E&O/Cyber spaces. Most recently, Easley served as Vice President and Senior Underwriter at USLI, following the integration of Devon Park Specialty, where he played a pivotal role in building its Private Company Management Liability and Excess Professional products.

Embroker Chief Insurance Officer, Andy Lea, is looking forward to making a veteran addition to lead his innovative underwriting team.

“At Embroker, we’re committed to making business insurance smarter and more efficient, and that starts with having the right expertise on our team,” said Andy Lea, CIO. “Stephen’s depth of knowledge and leadership in underwriting makes him a perfect fit to help us refine and expand our specialty insurance offerings. Leveraging his diverse mix of skills and background will support our ongoing mission to deliver the very best protections for our growing customer base.”

Easley has a proven track record of building underwriting teams, streamlining product development, and training underwriters across national markets. His ability to balance risk management with innovation positions him as an ideal addition to Embroker’s underwriting leadership.

“Businesses need insurance solutions that work for them — coverage that’s clear, accessible, and designed for their specific risks,” said Easley. “Embroker is making that a reality with the merging of traditional underwriting and bleeding-edge technology. I’m eager to bring my experience to the table to continue growing and strengthening our tech-driven underwriting approach to better serve our customers.”

This appointment follows a series of strategic moves for Embroker as the company continues to expand and uplevel its insurance offerings and invest in top industry talent to drive innovation, deliver optimal solutions that meet its customers where they are, and advance the customer experience.
