CEO Mark Bierley Announces Retirement; President and COO John Bork Named as Successor

NOVI, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Learning Care Group, Inc., the second-largest for-profit early education child care provider in North America, announced today that Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark R. Bierley’s planned retirement will begin on July 1, 2025. Current President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) John Bork will succeed Mr. Bierley. To facilitate a seamless transition, Mr. Bierley will serve in an advisory role through at least the end of 2025.

Mr. Bork joined Learning Care Group in 2024 as part of a planned succession strategy, bringing more than 20 years of experience in driving growth, scaling businesses, and fostering strong leadership teams. Mr. Bork previously served as the President of PetSmart’s Veterinary Services business and was the CEO of WellHaven Pet Health. During his time with Learning Care Group, Mr. Bork has implemented meaningful enhancements, including strengthening leadership training designed to elevate the skills of leaders across the organization. Mr. Bork’s leadership and impact has been felt throughout the company.
