Round Lake Beach to Join Metronet’s Expanding Illinois Fiber-Optic Network

Multimillion-Dollar Investment to Bring 100% Fiber-Optic Internet to the Community

EVANSVILLE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Metronet, named the nation’s “Fastest Major ISP” by PCMag two years in a row, announced today plans for a multimillion-dollar investment in the digital infrastructure of Round Lake Beach, Illinois. Metronet’s privately funded investment will bring 100% fiber-optic internet directly to customers’ doors, delivering internet speeds of up to five gigabits per second for residents and up to ten gigabits per second for businesses.

Once construction begins, Round Lake Beach residents will see Metronet trucks in the area. Residents will receive communication by mail about construction activity in their neighborhood 30 days prior to the start date. Additional notifications, such as yard signs, will also inform residents of upcoming construction. Metronet crews will be identifiable by ID tags and branded vehicles.
