Tysdal to Leverage Extensive Real Estate Expertise to Accelerate Windy Hill Development’s Strategic Land Acquisitions Across the Greater Houston Area

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Windy Hill Development, a pioneering land development company establishing master-planned communities and mixed-use commercial retail projects in the Greater Houston area, today announced the appointment of Chris Tysdal to Director of Land. Tysdal brings extensive real estate financial analysis, sales and investment experience across Texas markets to the role. At Windy Hill Development, Tysdal will be responsible for acquiring, managing, and entitling land for new residential development projects across the Houston area.

“The Windy Hill team is thrilled to welcome Chris Tysdal as our Director of Land. Chris has established himself as a rising star in residential land acquisition, with a proven track record of identifying high-potential opportunities in competitive Texas markets,” said Randy Hall, CEO of Windy Hill Development. “As Houston's demand for single-family homes continues to surge, our homebuilder partners are eager to strengthen their lot positions. Chris’s expertise in the San Antonio, Dallas and Fort Worth markets will be instrumental in developing affordable, quality communities that meet the growing needs of Houston families.”

Most recently, with Houston-based Forestar Development Group, Tysdal facilitated the acquisition of more than 5,000 paper lots and managed commercial and school site sales. Previously, he served as an analyst at Lennar Homes in the Dallas- Fort Worth market, where he quickly advanced to acquisition manager for Fort Worth. In this role, Tysdal oversaw the purchase and management of roughly 7,000 paper lots, including single-family lots, both land and lots, build-for-rent deals, land banking, HOA leadership and joint ventures.

Tysdal started his career at Investment Realty Co. in San Antonio, working on an integrated vertical construction loan finance program that helped fund residential home construction across Texas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas A&M University before completing the Master of Real Estate program at Texas A&M University.

“I’m excited to transition into the private sector of residential development with Windy Hill Development. This opportunity allows me to contribute directly to the company’s growth strategy while working alongside an exceptional team. The collaborative culture at Windy Hill creates the perfect environment to leverage my land acquisition and development expertise,” Tysdal said. “I look forward to helping build communities that meet the growing demands of the Houston market while adding meaningful value to our homebuilder partners and the organization as a whole.”

Windy Hill Development currently has nine projects in active development, with more than 6,800 residential lots planned over more than 3,000 acres across Houston, including Alvin, Needville, Crosby, Huntsville, and Dayton, Texas.
