Davis Polk Welcomes Antitrust Partner Nate Asker in New York

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Davis Polk today announced that leading antitrust lawyer Nathaniel L. Asker has joined the firm as a partner in its Antitrust & Competition practice in New York.

“We are pleased to welcome Nate to Davis Polk,” said Neil Barr, Davis Polk’s Managing Partner. “Nate has significant experience advising a wide range of clients on the antitrust aspects of complex mergers and acquisitions and will be a fantastic addition to our preeminent global antitrust team.”

Mr. Asker advises public companies and private equity firms and their portfolio companies on the antitrust aspects of mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, as well as on government investigations and compliance matters. His clients represent a range of industries, including technology and software, consumer products, aerospace and defense, industrials, pharmaceuticals and financial services. He regularly represents clients before the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission in obtaining antitrust approvals for their most critical strategic transactions and in other investigations. Prior to joining Davis Polk, Mr. Asker was a partner in the Antitrust and Competition practice at Fried Frank.

“Nate has an exceptional track record in securing antitrust approvals for public company and private equity clients’ most complicated and significant M&A transactions,” said Arthur Burke, head of Davis Polk’s Antitrust & Competition practice. “The experience that Nate brings will further strengthen our ability to provide exceptional antitrust counsel to clients on their high-profile and high-stakes deals. We are thrilled to have him on our team.”

Mr. Asker said, “I am truly excited to join Davis Polk, a distinguished firm with a phenomenal antitrust practice. I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues to help clients navigate the regulatory complexities they face.”

Publications including Chambers USA and Lexology Index (formerly Who’s Who Legal) recognize Mr. Asker as a leading antitrust practitioner. A client described him to Chambers as a “business-minded attorney who is able to summarize and apply sophisticated and complex antitrust law to real-world issues.” Mr. Asker is Co-Chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Mergers Committee. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the ABA Antitrust Section’s Antitrust Source publication and a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Mr. Asker earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2005 and his B.A. from the University of Virginia in 2000.
