The local initiative has secured backing from the City of Toronto, Shopify, Google Cloud, and over 40 community partners, including BetaKit, Golden Ventures, the University of Toronto, DMZ, TechTO, Wealthsimple, Cohere, and more.
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Toronto Tech Week will take place in Toronto from June 23 to June 27, 2025.
The annual weeklong, citywide event will bring together partners from the tech community to host hundreds of experiences, from panels and fireside chats to demos, hackathons, open houses, social events, and more.
Rooted in the spirit of innovation and community, Toronto Tech Week is designed for Toronto, by Toronto — an all-new, local initiative that will amplify the voices, talent, and ambition of the city and surrounding region’s tech ecosystem. This event will serve as a platform for global storytelling, showcasing Toronto’s impact and influence on the world stage. It aims to cement the city’s reputation as a global tech powerhouse in AI, FinTech, e-commerce, and beyond.
Toronto Tech Week is led by the volunteer-run non-profit Canada Tech Week Organization and made possible by its presenting sponsors, the City of Toronto, Shopify, and Google Cloud, which have provided funding and support to bring the mission and platform to life.
In addition to the presenting sponsors, Toronto Tech Week has galvanized a list of over 40 community partners, including BetaKit, Golden Ventures, University of Toronto, DMZ, TechTO, New Systems, Studio 535, Creative Destruction Lab, Wealthsimple, Cohere, Ada, Float, and more. Submissions are open for more event hosts to join the decentralized event format ahead of the full schedule release in the Spring.
“Toronto Tech Week is a pivotal moment for the tech ecosystem,” said Satish Kanwar, one of the organizers behind Toronto Tech Week. “Our focus is clear: to retain and nurture the talent that powers our innovation economy, attract investment from Canada, the U.S., and beyond, and strengthen Toronto’s competitiveness as a global tech leader. By bringing together the brightest minds and most promising ideas, we are positioning Toronto as a city where anything is possible.”
“Toronto and Canada as a whole are full of brilliant people who are starting and scaling some of the most incredible businesses in the world. The problem is, they rarely receive the attention or recognition they deserve,” said Harley Finkelstein, President of Shopify. “This is the right time and opportunity for Toronto Tech Week. This event will bring together the most ambitious local entrepreneurs and innovators, celebrate our success stories, and further cement Canada as the best place in the world to build a business.”
"Google Cloud is proud to be a presenting sponsor of Toronto Tech Week and contribute to the growth of this thriving tech ecosystem,” says Farsad Nasseri, Country Managing Director, Google Cloud Canada. “We're committed to empowering Toronto startups and enterprises to scale and innovate, and we look forward to a week of connection to further solidify Toronto’s global leadership in technology.”
"Toronto is a city of ambition and opportunity, and Toronto Tech Week is a perfect example of how we continue to lead the way in technology and innovation. This exciting new series of events highlights the incredible work happening right here in our community, from our talented tech leaders to the world-class researchers pushing the boundaries of AI. We're thrilled to welcome partners and showcase our city as the place where the next generation of groundbreaking technology will take shape," said Councillor Shelley Carroll.
"Toronto is a city where innovation thrives. It is a global hub for technology and artificial intelligence, with world-class talent, research institutions, and North America’s fastest-growing tech sector. Toronto Tech Week brings together thought leaders, entrepreneurs and investors. This event is a terrific opportunity to showcase Toronto’s vibrant tech sector, shape the future and drive our city's economic growth for years to come," said Mayor Olivia Chow.
