USAA Stands Strong Amid Wildfire Losses, With More than $1 Billion in Member Payments

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--USAA, a leading financial services provider for the military community, is steadfast in its commitment to support members affected by the devastating California wildfires. To date, 86% of wildfire claims have received initial payments, and we have put more than $1B in the hands of our members.

With over 3,500 claims received, USAA is dedicated to delivering swift assistance and is financially positioned to payout our members' projected $1.8 billion in wildfire losses. USAA has also assisted members through its activation of its Wildfire Response Program, which automatically enrolls eligible members in at-risk areas at no additional cost. This program provides wildfire response services, including property damage assessment and the application of fire retardants.

Additionally, USAA offers a wide range of resources to help members navigate recovery and rebuilding efforts, such as access to FEMA assistance, emergency shelters, and financial relief programs, including:

  • Expedited Claims Handling: Streamlined claim processing and advance payments have been activated to cover immediate needs such as temporary housing, food, and essential supplies.
  • Financial Relief: Disaster assistance is available to members facing financial hardships due to the wildfires. Eligible members can receive payment relief or assistance by contacting USAA.
  • 24/7 Member Support: A dedicated member service team is available around the clock to assist with claims and provide guidance on available resources. Members can connect with us at USAA.com/wildfirehelp or through the USAA mobile app for immediate support.
  • Home and Auto Repair Assistance: Access to a network of trusted repair professionals for home and auto repairs ensures expedited service and priority scheduling.
