DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Dallas County Medical Society (DCMS) proudly announces the installation of Shaina Drummond, MD, FASA, as its 142nd president. Dr. Drummond, a distinguished anesthesiologist and pain management specialist, brings extensive experience and leadership to her new role.
“I am honored to lead the Dallas County Medical Society,” said Dr. Drummond. “DCMS is a strong advocate for physicians and patients, and I am committed to enhancing our efforts in advocacy, practice management, and professional networking. My goal is to ensure DCMS supports both the professional and personal well-being of all physicians in Dallas.”
As the third consecutive female president of DCMS, Dr. Drummond is dedicated to advocating for physicians and patients, focusing on work-life balance, diversity, mental health resources, and entrepreneurship within the medical community.
Dr. Drummond earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, completed her anesthesiology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and the University of Nebraska, and pursued advanced pain medicine training at the University of Vermont College of Medicine.
Dr. Drummond is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine, she joined UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2012 and practices at Parkland Health. In addition to DCMS, she is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Texas Pain Society.
Dr. Drummond is married to fellow physician and DCMS member, Dr. Jonathan Oh.
The Dallas County Medical Society represents nearly 9,500 physicians, physician residents, and medical students. Founded in 1876, DCMS is a leader at local, state, and national levels, and is the second-largest county medical society in the country.
