YesCare Expands Correctional Healthcare Services to Ellis County, Texas and Orange County, New York

Nation’s premier correctional healthcare provider adds first medical services contract in Texas and expands footprint in New York

BRENTWOOD, Tenn.--()--YesCare, pioneer and premier provider of correctional healthcare in the United States, has been awarded two new contracts to provide medical services to correctional facilities in Ellis County, Texas, and Orange County, New York.

YesCare began providing medical, dental and pharmaceutical services to Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie, Texas, on December 16. They began offering comprehensive medical services, including medication-assisted addiction treatment, at the Orange County Correctional Facility in Goshen, New York, on January 1.

Ellis County is south of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and includes the cities of Waxahachie, Midlothian and Ennis. The agreement represents YesCare’s first medical services contract in the state of Texas. (The company previously provided staffing services to Harris Health in Harris County, which includes Houston.) The agreement with Orange County, which includes part of the Hudson Valley, expands YesCare’s reach in New York State, where it has provided medical services to the Coxsackie Correctional Center in Greene County since 1998. Each of the newly contracted facilities has the capacity to serve as many as 800 inmates.

YesCare began providing services in Ellis County less than a month after being awarded the contract, negotiating and executing the contract in just 20 days and adding 10 full-time employees, including a Health Service Administrator and a Director of Nursing. This more than doubled the existing staff and led to a successful contract transition.

“At YesCare, we pride ourselves on providing patient-centered healthcare services to at-risk individuals, many of whom have previously been medically unserved or underserved,” said Jeff Sholey, CEO of YesCare. “We look forward to helping both of these facilities improve overall health outcomes for their inmate populations, develop long-term treatment plans for chronic conditions, and reduce recidivism rates. Texas and New York are both strategically important states for us to continue growing, and we’re excited to partner with these exceptional organizations to deliver success.”

As the leading U.S. correctional healthcare provider, YesCare synthesizes best practices and industry-leading approaches to correctional healthcare to provide the very best care possible to incarcerated individuals at competitive rates for its government partners.

In its behavioral health role, YesCare offers comprehensive behavioral health services based on early and thorough screening and assessment of distress, disorder and risk. Prevention, treatment, health education, continuity of care and community reintegration services are central to the YesCare approach.
