A Decade of Fundamentals-Based Insights: Research Affiliates Showcases the Accuracy of Their Asset Allocation Interactive CMEs Tool

Research Article and Webinar Explore AAI's Forecasting Accuracy, New Features, & 2025 Market Outlook

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--()--Research Affiliates, LLC, an investment advisor and global leader in smart beta and enhanced indexing, quantitative active equity, and multi-asset products, today announced its celebrating ten years of its Asset Allocation Interactive (AAI) online capital market expectations (CMEs) tool. To showcase the 10-year full-cycle of the tool, a new research article, “Asset Allocation Interactive at 10 Years: The Good, the Not Too Bad, and the Ugly,” was published today reflecting on the accuracy of the fundamentally motivated CMEs as a prediction analysis tool.

Additionally, the company will host a webinar on January 16th titled “10 Years of Asset Allocation Interactive: Evaluating the Results of Conditional Return Expectations.” The webinar will be hosted by Jim Masturzo, Partner and Chief Investment Officer, Multi-Asset Strategies, and Brent Leadbetter, Partner and Head of Solutions Distribution at Research Affiliates.

“We built Asset Allocation Interactive from scratch ten years ago to provide investors and advisors with a foundational tool for strategic asset allocation,” said Jim Masturzo. “With 10 full years of data, it is a perfect time to assess our results. Overall, AAI’s capital markets expectations have largely been on target, anticipating the rank order of most realized returns by asset. Currency and inflation expectations are one area where we think we can improve, but AAI’s results over ten years clearly demonstrate its considerable value for investors focused on asset allocation and portfolio construction.”

Asset Allocation Interactive is Research Affiliates’ proprietary and comprehensive online tool for analyzing capital markets expectations. It provides advisors and investors with long-term expected returns and model portfolios to help make informed investment decisions. AAI allows users to create, save, and blend customized portfolios with expected returns for more than 140 assets and model portfolios. It features two expected return models: valuation-dependent and yield-and-growth.

Additional features include a portfolio build and analysis tool, public equity assets for 41 countries, interactive charts, historical and expected returns, country view dashboards, and the ability to download and print.

“AAI is available for free on the Research Affiliates website, and is updated and improved regularly,” said Brent Leadbetter. “We have recently added expected returns for systematic equity strategies and broken out value and growth. AAI is a living tool, and we think one of the very best free tools available when it comes to asset allocation and portfolio construction.”

Research Affiliates and AAI were recently honored at the 2024 ThinkAdvisor Luminaries Awards for Thought Leadership and Education, where AAI was also a finalist in the Innovation Category. At the 2024 WealthManagement.com "Wealthies" Awards, AAI was named a finalist in Industry Research Provider category. Kiplinger's also named AAI one of "5 Great Tools for DIY Stock Investors."
