IHI Power Services Corp. Americas Appoints Tony Dabbene as CEO

Seasoned Leader with Decades of Industry Expertise to Guide IPSC and IPGC Into a New Era of Growth

ALISO VIEJO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IHI Power Services Corp. (IPSC), a leading provider of operations and maintenance, asset management, remote operations and compliance services, has announced the appointment of Tony Dabbene as chief executive officer for both IHI Power Generation Corp. (IPGC) and IPSC. With a career spanning over 35 years, Dabbene brings extensive power industry expertise and a proven track record of transformative leadership.

Since joining IPSC as chief financial officer in 2022, Dabbene has made remarkable contributions, including leading a successful Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation and building a robust finance department. Initially brought out of retirement to assist the company on a short-term basis, his impact quickly turned into a long-term commitment, reflecting his exceptional ability to drive lasting business outcomes.

Dabbene has also been instrumental in the development, construction and operation of high-profile IPSC projects, such as the Rio Bravo Fresno and Rio Bravo Rocklin biomass facilities, further demonstrating his comprehensive expertise across the energy sector.

“It is an honor to take on this expanded role and continue the incredible journey with IPSC and IPGC,” said Dabbene. “Together, we will foster growth, innovation and success while creating opportunities for our talented team to thrive.”

Dabbene’s leadership legacy includes pivotal roles in the power and energy sectors, such as senior financial leadership positions at Ultrasystems and LG&E Energy, where he contributed to managing power generation plants still integral to IPSC’s portfolio today. Earlier in his career, he served as the CEO of ExaDigm (now NEXGO), where his strategic vision and turnaround expertise led to record-setting performance and a successful acquisition. Notably, as CFO of Metalclad Corporation, Dabbene achieved a historic victory in a NAFTA case, solidifying his reputation as a skilled corporate steward.

“Tony’s distinguished career and deep industry knowledge make him uniquely suited to lead IPSC and IPGC into their next chapter,” added Takao Tanaka, President and CEO of IHI Americas Inc., IPGC’s US parent company. “We are confident his leadership will uphold our commitment to delivering best-in-class service and operational excellence.”
