Collective Health Unveils its Next Generation of Guide Plans™ That Drive Cost Savings of up to $1,000 per Enrolled Employee per Year

Collective Health introduces the next evolution of its Guide Plans™ following a three-year pilot in which employer customers experienced an average 9.3% reduction in annual healthcare costs per enrolled employee compared to a cohort-matched control group

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Collective Health is excited to announce a significant evolution of its Guide Plans™ product. Since 2021, Guide Plans™ have simplified healthcare benefits, empowering members to make smarter healthcare decisions through a cost-sharing design that encourages the use of high-value services. This approach has delivered impactful results, including a 9.3% annual reduction in medical claims costs, translating to savings of up to $77 per employee per month (PEPM), based on a cohort-matched study over a 12-month period.

Guide Plans™ members spend 50% less than what members on employer-sponsored large group plans spend on annual out-of-pocket (OOP) healthcare expenses—an average of $367 compared to the national average of $828, as reported by the Peterson-KFF Health System Tracker. Additionally, preventive care utilization under a Guide Plan™ was 51% higher than the rate observed in a benchmark employer-sponsored plan. With a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 75, these results highlight how Guide Plans™ not only deliver cost savings for plan sponsors but also enhance access to preventive care, reduce member expenses, and improve the overall member experience.

In this next evolution of its Guide Plans™ product, Collective Health is introducing quality-based provider tiering. This enhancement will further enable Guide Plans™ members to easily identify and select high-value providers, furthering Collective Health’s mission to empower its members and employer customers to obtain high-quality care at the lowest cost.

“We’re thrilled to evolve our next-generation Guide Plans™ product, an offering that has been delivering significant hard-dollar savings and high-quality care to our member and employer customers for more than three years,” said Dr. Ari Hoffman, Chief Clinical Officer and Senior Vice President of Product Management at Collective Health. “This evolution represents a significant step forward in empowering members to make more informed healthcare decisions by giving them the tools to choose the highest quality and highest value care for themselves and their loved ones. While this approach to health benefit plan design may appear to be a recent trend, Collective Health has been at the forefront of this shift for several years. We are committed to continually evolving and innovating our products to meet the needs of American workers and their families.”
