WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Virtual, Inc., a leading provider of professional services to membership-based organizations, proudly announced today that Virtual CEO Andy Freed has been honored with the prestigious Harvard Club of Boston President’s Special Award. This esteemed recognition is awarded to alumni who exemplify extraordinary commitment, loyalty, and engagement with Harvard athletics and the broader Harvard community.
Freed joins a distinguished list of celebrated Harvard figures, including hockey coach and NCAA champion William J. Cleary, Jr., and renowned athletic director Bob Scalise, whose leadership and contributions have left a lasting legacy on the Harvard community.
“Andy Freed is the epitome of true leadership,” said Marcus DeFlorimonte, President of the Harvard Club of Boston Board of Governors. “He doesn’t just lead—he brings others along with him, inspiring everyone to be their best. His dedication to connecting, helping, and giving back embodies the very essence of what Harvard stands for. It’s an honor to present Andy with the Harvard Club of Boston President’s Special Award.”
As a graduate of Harvard University and the Harvard Kennedy School, Freed has a long history of service to the Harvard community. He currently serves on the Harvard Club of Boston Board of Governors and is a former Chair of the Harvard Varsity Club. During his time as a student, Freed captained the varsity water polo team and later returned as an assistant coach and head coach, mentoring and inspiring the next generation of Harvard student-athletes.
“It’s an honor to receive this award. Harvard athletics is the largest athletic program in Division 1 sports – and athletics teaches incredibly valuable lessons that help our students become leaders for the rest of their lives,” said Freed. “I’m proud to support the vital mission of Harvard athletics and Harvard University as it creates its next generation of leaders to make their mark on the world.”
