ROCHESTER, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Inspirity Health Partners entered into an agreement with Adena Health, Chillicothe, OH, to assist in transformation and elevation of supply chain capabilities. The collaboration is helping Adena stay at the forefront of industry trends, while adopting best practices to quickly achieve strategic goals in supply chain management.
As an advocate for innovative business strategies, Jim McManus, Chief Financial Officer for Adena Health, felt there was a unique opportunity to enhance their supply chain capabilities and further align their business strategies with their vision for the future. The combined efforts of the partnership are helping Adena optimize their supply chain processes by improving efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and operational performance, while expanding initiatives to achieve strategic goals.
“Our collective approach enhances decision-making capabilities and enables our team to adapt and respond to changing circumstances promptly,” said McManus. “As a result, we can maximize the impact of the initiatives and drive positive outcomes for both economic and clinical aspects of our operations.”
Andrea Chavez, MBA, MSSCM, Vice President Supply Chain & Real Estate at Adena was intrigued with the ability to tap into the Mayo Clinic Supply Chain Management team, while also having the opportunity to be an early adopter of a program that would help her quickly design and implement improvement strategies.
“We are considered to be a smaller organization, which naturally dictates a smaller team,” said Chavez,” but we still have impressive goals for our supply chain efforts.” She continued, “the resources and scale Inspirity brings to the table allows our bandwidth to expand, essentially allowing us to manage multiple initiatives at the same time.”
Other aspects of the program that McManus found attractive were the opportunity to engage in the procure-to-pay system, streamline back-office functions and expand areas of focus to obtain additional value. “The ability to effectively dive into indirect spend (primarily purchased services) is important,” said McManus, “there are not many third parties who can provide a sustainable solution to managing those types of expenses.”
The insights and experiences shared by the Inspirity team have exceeded initial expectations, leading to substantial cost savings. “By adopting a wholistic, agile approach to value creation, we collaborate as a collective team to navigate opportunities,” said Bruce Mairose, Division Chair Supply Chain Management for the Mayo Clinic, “as a result, we are better suited to deliver sustainable results for patients, clinicians and stakeholders.”
When describing Inspirity to her staff and leadership, Chavez emphasized the resourcefulness, agility, and speed Inspirity brought to support the supply chain. She highlighted how the approach allowed her team to run multiple initiatives in parallel, without overly straining internal resources.
“The ability to seamlessly multitask really enables me to drive these diverse projects forward efficiently while serving my internal customers,” said Chavez. “What I appreciate most is the partnership's ability to adapt to our needs, providing both strategic support and the flexibility to tackle multiple projects simultaneously, without overwhelming our internal teams, it’s a type of ‘at the elbow support’ that can quickly benefit us.”
