BOZEMAN, Mont.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, MeatEater, Inc. (“MeatEater”), one of America’s top brands in outdoor media and consumer products, announced the hiring of Scott Trepanier as Executive Vice President of Marketing. With a career defined by transformative marketing leadership and a deep-rooted passion for the outdoors, Trepanier brings a wealth of expertise to the MeatEater family as the company continues to deliver on its mission of strengthening consumers’ connection to the natural world.
Trepanier joins MeatEater after a distinguished 14-year career at Columbia Sportswear, where he excelled in key marketing leadership roles, culminating in his position as Vice President of U.S. Marketing. In this role, he spearheaded omnichannel brand strategies that drove significant growth across direct-to-consumer retail, e-commerce, and wholesale platforms. His expertise in managing a diverse portfolio of iconic outdoor brands—including Columbia and its subbrands, including Performance Fishing Gear (PFG), Columbia Titanium, and Montrail—positions him to advance the marketing objectives of MeatEater’s family of premium brands: MeatEater products, First Lite (technical hunting apparel), FHF Gear (hunting accessories), Phelps Game Calls, and Dave Smith Decoys. Before joining Columbia, Trepanier managed the Microsoft consumer services account at public relations firm WE Communications and served in the U.S. Army.
Trepanier will oversee MeatEater’s marketing strategy and execution–leading efforts to build compelling brand and product-driven storytelling campaigns that foster customer acquisition and loyalty, drive community engagement, and elevate awareness of the company’s offerings across multiple distribution channels.
“Scott’s experience and demonstrated success testify to his proven ability to grow strong brands that resonate with customers and communities alike,” said Jason Bergsman, CEO of MeatEater. “He has a deep understanding of the outdoor industry and his passion for our mission make him a perfect fit for MeatEater. We look forward to the energy, creativity, and leadership he’ll bring as we continue to grow.”
“I am truly honored to join MeatEater and contribute to a company whose mission and values resonate so deeply with my own passion for the outdoors,” said Scott Trepanier. “MeatEater has built a remarkable platform that not only celebrates ethical hunting, fishing, and conservation but also inspires a profound connection between people and the natural world. I look forward to collaborating with this exceptional team to expand the reach of these values and bring the MeatEater experience to even more individuals who share our love for the wild.”
