TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Buttes is proud to announce the completion of a multi-million dollar renovation of its guestrooms and suites, fitness center and expansion of outdoor meeting space and the lobby bar’s outdoor dining area.
The well-regarded and stunning resort is built into the majestic Tempe Butte with breathtaking 180 degree views of blue skies and desert sunsets, sweeping from Downtown Phoenix to the Superstition Mountains in Mesa from some of the public spaces. Phoenix Marriott Resort Tempe at The Buttes attracts guests with its cascading waterfalls, sparkling pools, first class dining, and exceptional meeting facilities.
Guests find themselves nestled away in a desert paradise while only being three miles away from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, minutes away from ASU in Tempe, shopping in Scottsdale, and entertainment venues downtown. It’s also a sought after location for Californians during Spring break and spring training since the resort is located next to the Los Angeles Angels spring training field.
Rebecca Wuppermann, general manager, says, “Our resort is the perfect location for motivating business meetings and relaxing and rejuvenating leisure stays. We are blessed with nearly year-round perfect weather and pleased to share the renovation with our many repeat guests, as well as those who may not have discovered our gem in the desert. We welcome everyone with our signature Marriott service.”
Owned and managed by Columbia Sussex, the Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Buttes offers 353 newly renovated guestrooms and suites, including a presidential suite, chairman suite and seven studio rooms. The resort’s room renovations include soft goods, furniture and furnishings, bathrooms, wall coverings, artwork, lighting and electronics/technological enhancements. The new design is contemporary with an upscale twist reflecting the Marriott brand’s comfortable, modern aesthetic.
The guestrooms and suites’ new design pays homage to the resort’s synchronicity with its desert surroundings. It embraces a subdued palette of warm, natural hues from the Tempe Butte and the beauty and ancient environment reflected in each room’s natural surfaces. The look is warm, effortless and tranquil, utilizing understated tactile materials, weathered, rustic wire brushed oak, twisted basket raffias and modern metals with clean lines emphasize simplistic textures that have an artisan feel. The design evokes an ageless authenticity and balances subtle antiquity and elevated design for a look with bright, casual sophistication and a timeless modern spirit. The redesigned guestrooms also focus on lounging with new relaxing ambient lighting, electronic connectivity additions, and functional workspace areas.
Bathrooms include new built-in showers with glass doors and contemporary and spacious white quartz countertops featuring all new large backlit mirrors illuminating the room. Also added is new bathroom floor tile, modern barn sliding bathroom doors with frosted glass and hardware, as well as stationary Aveda pump shampoo, conditioner, and body wash shower dispensers.
Additionally, each luxurious guest room is designed for optimal rest and productivity with architectural framing, contrasting finishes and thoughtful solutions to enhance a guest’s stay,
- Convenient wall outlets, lamp outlets and nightstands outfitted with USB and USB-C ports for multiple electronic devices
- Luxurious bedding with cotton-rich linens, fluffy pillows and embroidered robes
- High-speed Wi-Fi and a large desk with a well-lit workspace, comfortable chair and plug-in panels
- 55-inch flat-panel TVs with the Marriott Entertainment Package, including premium cable and movie channels to keep guests well-entertained

Kachina Patio was expanded and can accommodate up to 250 guests, featuring views of mountains, and is the ideal space for luncheons, cocktail receptions or dinner events.
