CTC Global Names Theodore Paradise as Its Chief Policy and Grid Strategy Officer

IRVINE, Calif.--()--CTC Global, the leading developer and manufacturer of advanced conductors for the energy sector, announces the appointment of Theodore Paradise as its Chief Policy and Grid Strategy Officer. In this newly created role, Paradise will lead CTC’s engagement of key public and private stakeholders to accelerate the deployment of robust, efficient, inexpensive advanced conductors.

Paradise joins CTC Global with an impressive track record spanning over two decades in the energy industry. He is a thought-leader in transmission policy and on the development and operation of regional and national power generation, transmission and distribution systems. Theodore is a frequent speaker at industry events and a source of industry expertise to media outlets. He joins CTC Global from K&L Gates, where he was a partner advising public and private clients on energy policy issues. He also served as Chief Policy and Legal Officer for Hexicon, a European offshore wind asset developer, and in executive and advisory positions with a transmission asset developer and a Regional Transmission Organization.

Throughout his career, Paradise has been a business leader and a trusted counselor to companies navigating complex federal and state energy laws and regulations. He has regularly represented clients before federal and state agencies, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Department of Energy. His expertise encompasses transmission planning, offshore wind development, energy storage, and renewable energy projects.

CTC Global’s CEO, J.D. Sitton stated, “The North American transmission grid requires massive investment to prepare it for the challenges of the 21st century. Lawmakers, regulators, utilities, retail customers and industrial end-users are demanding faster, better, cheaper solutions for meeting these challenges. My colleagues and I are thrilled to welcome Theodore to our team – his experience, insights and leadership will help ensure that CTC continues to be an excellent partner to its utility and industrial customers.”

“CTC Global’s solutions are transformative. Utilities are grappling with a combined two-terawatt interconnection backlog of new generation and significant new energy demands driven by electrification, manufacturing, and the digital economy. The resulting supply and demand reconfiguration of the grid is unprecedented. The traditional tools used by utilities to expand capacity are simply too slow and too expensive to meet these needs. CTC’s solutions cut 40% off the cost and 80% or more off the lead-time to double grid capacity in existing transmission and distribution corridors. I am excited to join CTC and work with this incredible team to transform the energy sector,” said Paradise.

Paradise is also an active board member of the American Offshore Wind Academy and has served in various leadership roles within the Energy Bar Association, enhancing his reputation as a prominent figure in energy law and policy.

About CTC Global:

CTC Global is the world’s leading developer and manufacturer of carbon fiber composite cores used in Advanced Overhead Conductors. For over 20 years, the Company’s patented ACCC® Conductor has been selected and vetted by more than 300 utility and industrial customers through extensive testing and the installation of more than 185,000 km (115,000 miles) of ACCC® Conductor in over 65 countries and 30 U.S. states.

The ACCC® Conductor’s high strength, light weight, improved conductivity, and thermal stability allow it to double the capacity of existing transmission lines without the need to raise or replace existing structures. The ACCC® Conductor mitigates thermal sag to reduce wildfire and black out risks; reduces overall project costs, construction timeframes, and environmental impact of new transmission lines; and reduces line losses by 25-40% or more to reduce fuel consumption and associated GHG emissions while freeing-up generation capacity otherwise wasted.

To date, it is estimated that the use of ACCC® Conductors at well over 1,300 projects has reduced CO2 emissions by over 30 million metric tons. Headquartered in Irvine, California, CTC Global operates five core manufacturing facilities which support more than 35 ACCC® Conductor manufacturing partners, worldwide.
