PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) partnered with Tyler to create the “Get A Game Plan” mobile app to quickly assist residents through natural disasters. This app utilizes Tyler’s Resident Engagement Platform, featuring functionality from My Civic and Engagement Builder and empowers agencies to deliver critical information when it matters most.
“Hurricane preparedness is critical for Louisiana residents. The ‘Get A Game Plan’ mobile app empowers people to take charge of their safety through the ability to receive real-time updates and access customized resources,” said Neal Fudge, deputy director, Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. “Through our close collaboration with Tyler, we were able to quickly bring critical information to make residents feel more at ease during an unpredictable time.”
This app demonstrates the flexibility of Tyler’s Resident Engagement Platform to design tailored resident experiences and support critical initiatives, such as emergency preparedness and recovery efforts. By providing residents with personalized disaster plans and access to critical resources, the app empowers individuals and families to be better prepared for, and respond to, emergencies.
The “Get A Game Plan” app has several key features and benefits:
- Interactive maps: Residents can locate points of distribution for water, tarps, and other vital resources through an interactive map feature, allowing Louisiana GOHSEP to add and adjust details and locations quickly as new information is available.
- Customized supply list: Residents can utilize an interactive tool to share household information, receiving a personalized 72-hour emergency supply list based on their specific needs.
- Real-time updates: The Louisiana GOHSEP staff can push critical notifications directly to app users, keeping them informed of changing situations and resource availability.
- Scalable: Since implementation, the app has been downloaded more than 19,000 times on both Android and iOS devices. The app saw a drastic increase in sessions this past month due to Louisiana’s most recent natural disaster, Hurricane Francine.
“We are proud of our close partnership with Louisiana GOHSEP to deliver the ‘Get A Game Plan’ mobile app. This innovative solution demonstrates how Tyler’s Resident Engagement Platform empowers agencies to connect with residents and deliver critical information before, during, and after times of crisis,” states Jason Stelzer, general manager of Tyler’s Louisiana state enterprise. “The success of this app in Louisiana paves the way for other state and local governments to leverage this technology for disaster preparedness and recovery.”
The app’s success showcases the power of strong partnerships and innovative technology. Building upon a longstanding relationship with Louisiana GOHSEP, Tyler’s Resident Engagement Platform provided the flexibility and scalability needed to deliver a critical tool for Louisiana residents to utilize through hurricane season and beyond.
