LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, the Yes on Measure G campaign announced its newest digital ad buy featuring businessman and philanthropist Stephen J. Cloobeck, a respected voice in the business and philanthropic communities. Cloobeck seeks to raise awareness for the historic reforms included in Measure G, which will make LA County government more representative, accountable, and responsive to the needs of all residents.
The ad features Cloobeck’s strong endorsement of Measure G, emphasizing the importance of expanding the LA County Board of Supervisors to provide fair representation for LA County’s more than 10 million residents. In the ad, Cloobeck speaks to the need for structural change in county government, all without any new taxes.
The 30-second ad features Stephen J. Cloobeck, who states “Business owners…support Measure G, because it brings back responsible government that’s accountable and transparent to you—the taxpayer.” Cloobeck urges Angelenos to “Vote by November 5 for Yes on Measure G.”
The ad concludes by highlighting Measure G’s support from nurses, small businesses, and the Los Angeles Times.
“Stephen J. Cloobeck’s support is a powerful testament to the importance of Measure G and the need for meaningful reform in LA County,” said Los Angeles County Board Chair and co-author of the measure, Lindsey P. Horvath. “His advocacy underscores what Measure G is all about: creating a governance system that works for everyone. We are grateful for our business community and their commitment to a fairer LA County.”
The six-figure ad buy ad is part of a larger campaign, including direct mail, to educate voters on the transformative impact of Measure G, which would expand the Board of Supervisors from five to nine members, establish an elected County Executive to provide a clear separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches of County government, and create an independent Ethics Commission to ensure higher standards of transparency and integrity. The reforms would come at no additional cost to taxpayers.
The ad is now live on streaming and digital platforms in the lead-up to the November 2024 election.
