LEVEL99 TO OPEN FOURTH LOCATION AT THE CORBIN COLLECTION IN WEST HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT
Interactive, competitive social gaming venue for adults will bring real world physical and mental challenges, vibrant event spaces, and a craft dining destination to shopping center
Level99, an interactive social gaming venue with locations across New England, has announced that it will open its newest outpost at The Corbin Collection in West Hartford, CT, in late 2025. The Corbin Collection location will be Level99’s fourth location, following the planned opening of its third location at Tysons Corner in Virginia in 2025 as well. Additional locations are in the works for 2026.
Level99 is a first-of-its-kind destination for real-world, social challenge-based entertainment for adults featuring over 50 mental and physical challenges set in immersive artistic environments. At The Corbin Collection, the company will transform a portion of the former Sears building into a sprawling entertainment and dining complex where teams of two to six players can explore and play challenges together while they collect prizes and stars for beating rooms that may land them on the coveted leaderboard. Players can celebrate together over award-winning Detroit-style pizza, seasonal scratch cooking, Connecticut-made beer from Two Roads Brewing Company, and innovative cocktails at the connecting Two Roads Kitchen & Tap.
“Level99 offers social, physical, mental, and skill-based challenges in an open-world environment. Players are encouraged to explore the art-saturated environment and chart their own play path,” said Level99 CEO, Matt DuPlessie, an MIT and Harvard Business School-trained engineer with Disney and Universal Studios on his resume. “Whether for date night, getting together with a group of friends, or a whole-facility rental for corporate team events, the combination of memorable, active fun, delicious dining and craft beverages has generated a lot of excitement in our first markets of Boston and Providence. We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors from the West Hartford area to discover all that Level99 has to offer.”
DuPlessie dreamed up the idea of Level99 after 20 years of being a leader in the interactive entertainment industry with his company 5 Wits. DuPlessie’s Massachusetts-based production company, Box Fort, which is now a part of Level99, designs, engineers, and programs all elements of the Level99 facility and games from the ground up. The 43,000-square-foot Level99 complex at The Corbin Collection will accommodate up to 600 players in its gaming arena and 250 guests in its adjoining restaurant, Two Roads Kitchen and Tap. The company plans to hire around 100 positions to support the location, ensuring an optimal guest experience.
“We’re thrilled to join forces with Level99 as they bring their dynamic experience to West Hartford,” said Brad Hittle, President and CEO of Two Roads Brewing. “Their commitment to adventure, innovation, and delivering a truly unique consumer experience aligns perfectly with our ‘Road Less Traveled’ philosophy. It’s a natural fit, and we can't wait to see what’s ahead.”
Emily Gagliardi, Senior Vice President at First Washington Realty, which owns The Corbin Collection, said, “We look forward to welcoming Level99 to The Corbin Collection, as this dynamic entertainment venue is exactly the type of tenant we look to partner with to drive meaningful activation and engagement at our shopping centers. Level99’s unique and playful approach provides an appealing experience that we believe will keep visitors engaged and drawn to the shopping center for many years to come.”
