--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The official start of the 2024 holiday shopping season at South Coast Plaza is November 22, the morning after the Segerstrom family hosts the traditional tree-lighting ceremony. That event includes a special visit from Santa and a performance by students from Orange County School of the Arts, and the next day all holiday activations and activities commence. Here are the highlights.

WHAT: South Coast Plaza holiday activities include:
- Our 43rd Annual Tree Lighting event takes place Thursday, November 21 at Town Center Park in front of The Westin Hotel South Coast Plaza, with musical performances from Orange County School of the Arts. The show features a special visit by Santa and the countdown to our traditional tree lighting. Caroling begins at 6:30 pm. The main show goes on at 7 pm. Open to the public, free admission.
- Visitors will enjoy three towering trees, each resplendent with lights, ornaments, or storytelling decorations. Our traditional Jewel Court tree features gleaming ornaments. Our great tree in the Crate & Barrel/Macy’s Home Store wing features figures of Santa from around the world and a miniature train. Our 96-foot fir tree in Town Center Park is illuminated with over 20,000 spectacular lights.
- Beginning November 22, families can visit Santa at Santa’s Village, an Alpine winter wonderland on level 1 in Carousel Court, or Santa’s cottage at the North Pole on level 1 in the Crate and Barrel/Macy’s Home Store wing. Photo packages are $19-$58.
- Children can enjoy a ride ($2) on our one-of-a-kind Reindeer Carousel and Santa’s Express Train, both available exclusively at South Coast Plaza only during the holiday season. A train ride is complimentary with any Santa photo purchase.
- Those with a UnionPay card who use it to purchase $3,500 or more from November 22 through December 31 may receive a $200 South Coast Plaza gift card.
- South Coast Plaza celebrates beautiful new boutiques recently opened or debuting in time for holiday shopping, including Alaia, Allen Edmonds, Amiri, Baccarat, Chopard, Courreges, Delvaux, Madhappy, Kiehl’s, Jacques Marie Mage, Lanvin, Lululemon, Rolex, Santa Maria Novella, Swarovski, and Zegna. And for a happy New Year, Acne Studios, Dior Parfums, Khaite, Eres, Moncler, and Harry Winston are among the brands unveiling new South Coast Plaza boutiques in 2025.
