NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Omni Retail Enterprises, operator of a portfolio of lifestyle digital storefronts and communities covering home decor, apparel, health & wellness products, fitness and educational programs, has named Cindy Kretzinger as Head of Product Development and Merchandising for Pier 1 Imports.
“Cindy’s long history with Pier 1 Imports, depth of knowledge in design, product innovation and global sourcing make her the perfect choice to shape Pier 1’s revival. Her deep understanding of the customer will be the cornerstone of the decisions we’ll make as we bring back products our customers love,” said Sharon Leite, Omni’s CEO. “I’m excited to have her at the helm of Pier 1 to jumpstart our revitalization plan as we reshape the brand for today’s consumer.”
Kretzinger was most recently Director of Product Development, Design & Sourcing at The Container Store and previously served in senior merchandising roles at Loloi Rugs and Kirkland's. She worked at Pier 1 Imports for almost 20 years, starting in marketing and building her career through its merchandising organization. She holds a BBA in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies & Marketing from Emory University.
“I have a clear understanding of Pier 1’s heritage and loyal customer base. Leveraging both will be instrumental in reigniting the brand’s legacy, while deploying innovative merchandising strategies to redefine its product offerings for today’s consumer. In a way, it’s like coming home for me, but with a renewed sense of energy and focus. The executive team at Omni has created the template for a world-class retail operation, and I’m excited to help the company realize its omni-channel vision for Pier 1,” said Kretzinger.
