9th Annual SAAS NORTH Returns to Ottawa This November 13-14, 2024

Canada’s leading software as a service conference will bring together leaders from Tealbook, Certn, Xero, Inovia Capital, Passage, BDC and more

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--()--SAAS NORTH, Canada’s longest-running and largest gathering of Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud software startups and scaleup companies, is returning once again for their 9th annual event this November 13-14, 2024 at Ottawa’s Shaw Centre. The conference, presented by National Bank, produced by Cube Business Media Inc., and co-founded with Kanata-based L-Spark accelerator, is set to welcome over 2,000 attendees and 800 companies spanning the two-day event.

First-time and returning attendees to SAAS NORTH can expect to meet Canada’s fastest growing SaaS companies learning, networking and growing together. Last year, nearly 1,700 attendees from 700 companies joined the conference to experience the BetaKit Keynote Stage and participate in hundreds of investor meetings. This year, the organizers are expecting an even greater turnout of SaaS professionals, enabling conversation, tactical education and information sharing within the Canadian technology ecosystem.

SAAS NORTH is set to introduce two brand-new programs to the stage this year: The Masked Investor and Founders Feud. In the style of The Masked Singer, ‘The Masked Investor’ will feature one incognito, disguised investor who will take centre stage to spill the unfiltered truth – from working with startups to secrets for fundraising success. The conference will also debut ‘Founders Feud’ – a Family Feud-style competition where early-stage SaaS companies will face off to answer popular industry-related questions, with proceeds going to a charity of their choice.

“We’re thrilled to welcome a diverse group of speakers to this year’s lineup, offering unparalleled expertise and insights to the stage for SaaS professionals,” said David Tyldesley, the Co-Founder of SAAS NORTH and Cube Business Media Inc. “Attendees will have the unique opportunity to learn directly from founders and leaders who have found success despite navigating shifting market landscapes, transferring knowledge and encompassing the heart of what SAAS NORTH is all about.”

The full conference programming has been released and will feature prominent Canadian SaaS leaders who will be presenting this year, including: Stephany LaPierre of Tealbook, Andrew Mcleod of Certn, Kevin Kilman of Humi, Marie Chevrier Schwartz of TechTO (formerly Sampler), and more. The two-day conference, which is known for its scale and founder-heavy audience, will showcase exciting presentations and interactive opportunities to foster participation. This year’s features will also include:

  • The Firehood Angel Camp: Savvy angel investors from The Firehood, a movement that focuses on opportunities for women in the tech industry, will be onsite at this year’s conference ready to deploy capital. All women entrepreneurs registered are welcome to pitch the angels at the conference’s Firehood Angel Camp.
  • SAAS NORTH Pitchfest: Co-sponsored by National Bank and MaRS, the 8th Annual SAAS NORTH Pitchfest will feature eight finalists who have been selected from a national application process by venture capitalist judges to pitch live at SAAS NORTH. A winner from day one and two will be selected, culminating in an exciting grand-finale at the end of the conference where the two winners will compete head-to-head in a winner-takes-all rapid pitch-off. The SAAS NORTH audience of leading SaaS investors and entrepreneurs will decide the grand prize winner by live voting, and award the winner a $10,000 cash prize.
