CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Grant Thornton, one of America’s largest brands of professionals providing end-to-end audit, assurance, tax and advisory services, has appointed Greg Davis to lead the firm’s Workday practice. Grant Thornton has also enhanced its Workday leadership team with the addition of Andrew (Drew) Houts, who joins the firm with nearly a decade of Workday ecosystem leadership experience.
Since 2019, Grant Thornton has teamed up with Workday (NASDAQ: WDAY), a leader in enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources. The firm became a Workday Services Partner in 2023, based on its success deploying the Workday platform for clients — and its ability to help clients use the platform to connect functions and capabilities in areas ranging from accounting and planning to human capital and analytics.
For more than a decade, Davis has been a principal within Grant Thornton’s Technology Modernization practice, most recently serving as the global leader of the firm’s award-winning JD Edwards practice. He has over 27 years of consulting experience and specializes in providing thoughtful leadership and innovative solutions for areas such as digital transformation, data management, enterprise resource planning (ERP), human resources and finance.
Davis has delivered numerous successful ERP transformations and works directly with business leaders to analyze, implement and modernize various ERP solutions. His strategic vision and technical experience encompass leading Enterprise Application offerings for human resources, payroll, financials, distribution and manufacturing — as well as experience enhancing core ERP systems with solutions for reporting, enterprise performance management and business analytics.
In his new Workday role, Davis will ensure Grant Thornton delivers services and manages programs to help clients successfully adopt Workday solutions and achieve speed-to-value from the leading cloud platform.
“Grant Thornton continues to invest in its relationship with Workday by bolstering our practice through building a strong team of thought leaders with a proven track record of delivering on client needs,” said Nick Vellani, national managing principal of the Technology Modernization practice at Grant Thornton Advisors LLC.
Also joining the Workday leadership team is Drew Houts, a managing director in Grant Thornton’s Technology Modernization practice. New to the firm, he will help grow the Workday practice alongside Davis. Houts is a seasoned delivery and sales leader with a proven track record of driving substantial revenue growth and optimizing strategies across diverse sectors.
Houts has successfully led organizations in navigating complex market landscapes and achieving revenue increases. His expertise lies in building high-performing sales teams, developing innovative go-to-market strategies, and fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to exceed business objectives.
With strong leadership experience in driving initiatives in education, government and healthcare, his commitment to excellence is evident. Houts’ ability to foresee market trends and implement effective strategies has not only enhanced profitability for his organizations throughout his career but has also earned him recognition as a transformative leader in the industry.
“Greg’s and Drew’s experience using technology across multiple industries to help clients transform makes them uniquely qualified to grow our Workday practice,” Vellani added. “With the support of Stuart Reeves, a senior manager in Grant Thornton’s Technology Modernization practice, we are well-equipped to help our clients use Workday to better scale and increase profits, while more deftly negotiating a shifting business landscape.”
